Pokémon First Partner Illustration Collection: Series 2

Premium Boxed Collection · English · 30th Anniversary · Johto · Unova · Galar

Series 2 continues the 30th-anniversary First Partner Illustration Collection with the starter Pokémon of Johto, Unova, and Galar, a premium boxed set built around illustration-rare-style promo art. Each box pairs collectible promo cards with sealed booster packs, giving trading-card vending operators and wholesale resellers a high-ticket anchor SKU that stands out next to single-pack inventory.

Pokémon TCG card pricing is reserved for VTM Vending machine customers.

Why stock First Partner Series 2

  • 30th-anniversary demand. The First Partner line taps direct nostalgia for the starters players grew up with, a proven repeat-purchase driver in 2026.
  • Panoramic illustration art. The Johto, Unova, and Galar promos connect into region scenes, so collectors buy to complete each set rather than one and done.
  • High-ticket anchor SKU. One premium box lifts your average sale and gives a route a “grail” item alongside everyday $6 to $20 packs.
  • Sealed English product. Broad buyer trust and easy resale across machines, shows, and online.
  • Flexible merchandising. Feature the whole box in a shelf machine, or split its sealed booster packs into standard coils to keep a wall stocked.

Frequently asked questions

Operator economics

The Operator Economics grid at the top of this page shows the current cost, suggested vend, profit per vend, and margin, calculated live from the listed price with VTM Vending's standard formula: (cost x 1.20) + $5, rounded up to the nearest dollar. Figures are before card processing and any venue revenue share.

What's inside a Series 2 collection box?

Each box is a premium sealed set built around illustration-rare-style First Partner promo cards plus sealed Pokémon booster packs. Series 2 covers the starters of Johto, Unova, and Galar, with promo art that connects into a panoramic scene for each region.

Which starters are in Series 2?

Johto (Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile), Unova (Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott), and Galar (Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble), nine First Partner Pokémon in total.

Will this fit a standard booster-pack coil?

The full box is larger than a single pack, so it's best displayed in a shelf or locker machine as a feature item. If you run coil machines, load the box's individual sealed booster packs into your standard booster coils instead.

Is this English product?

Yes. Series 2 is the English-language First Partner Illustration Collection, so it carries broad buyer trust and resells easily across machines, shows, and online.

How should I price it in a machine?

Suggested vend follows VTM Vending's standard formula: (cost x 1.20) + $5, rounded up. The Operator Economics grid above tracks the live wholesale price on this page. Premium boxes like this carry higher price tolerance, so many operators hold or raise the vend based on local demand.

Do I need a VTM Vending machine to buy?

How it vends

22mm coil, product pusher, top-loader case

VTM machines do not need an elevator or a robotic arm to deliver cards. A specialized 22mm coil paired with a rigid top-loader pack case does the job, and a product pusher keeps the row feeding forward. Traditional trading card kiosks move product with robotic arms or elevator systems and run $10,000 to $20,000 before you vend a single pack. VTM engineered a purpose-built coil that relies on proven spiral vending, so the lineup runs $2,850 to $5,000.

The same coil, case, and pusher system is sized to each machine's tray. Wall-mounted machines come with a mounting bracket and hardware and can also be bolted to a pedestal stand to stand on the floor. Machines ship unwrapped; TCG wraps are sold separately at VTM Vending.

Operator questions

Running a VTM machine

Do I need a license to operate a Pokémon vending machine?
No. Pokémon trading card products are unregulated consumer goods. You do not need age verification, special licensing, or franchise approval, which makes card vending far simpler than age-restricted categories like vape or alcohol. If you can run a vending route, you can run Pokémon vending.
Is it legal to sell Pokémon cards from a vending machine?
Yes. Under the United States First Sale Doctrine, the lawful purchaser of a genuine product can resell it through any legal retail channel without permission from the brand owner. Sealed product bought through legitimate channels can be resold on shelves, in kiosks, and in vending machines.
Can I manage my machines remotely?
Yes. VTM Software gives you real-time sales, inventory, and pricing control from any device. You can adjust prices, see which rows are running low, pull revenue reports, and track several locations without visiting a machine.
What payment methods do VTM machines accept?
Every machine ships with Nayax VPOS Touch payment hardware that accepts credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and cash. Payment processing costs 3.5% plus 20¢ per transaction, with real-time reporting through Nayax and VTM Software.
How much does it cost to run a VTM machine per month?
The software is free for the first 3 months, then $29 per machine per month. You also pay location commission (typically 10% of revenue), payment processing (3.5% plus 20¢ per transaction), and a small amount of electricity. The machine itself you own outright.
Where do Pokémon vending machines perform best?
High-foot-traffic locations with a mix of impulse buyers and collectors: gas stations, convenience stores, arcades, bowling alleys, family entertainment centers, hobby shops, and mall kiosks. Locations with younger customers and families tend to outperform a standard convenience store.
